The Church of St. Andrew offers its facilities for a variety of community needs. A number of community groups use our parish hall for meetings, and we act as a shelter for Project Hospitality at night. We have housed and fed volunteers working on Staten Island to repair the damage of Hurricane Sandy.
We participate at Trinity Lutheran Church in their soup kitchen and collect food for use in food pantries.
The parish has taken part in the Heart of the Home Campaign, helping to outfit homes damaged during Hurricane Sandy.
We supported the diocesan program, Carpenters’ Kids, to assist children in Tanzania as well as Coins for Change, which is administered by ECW to help rural and migrant workers.
At Christmas we collect presents with our Giving Tree program which are donated to local charities in need of gifts for the communities they serve.
St. Andrew’s is a member of the Building Bridges Interfaith Coalition, which meets monthly on Staten Island.
